halloweekend 🍬👻

Image
This weekend was Halloween weekend, as the title implies, and I had so much fun! I finished all my homework before leaving Friday afternoon, packed, and got ready to go. My three best friends and I got on the road for 4 hours to go to IU Bloomington. I went there last year for school, so it was nice visiting and seeing my friends out there. My brother also goes there so it was nice to see him too. We met up with my friends and had a great time. The line at McDonald's on the way back to our hotel was SO long, but, we waited. Nothing hits better than some greasy fast food, puts you right to sleep.      The next morning, we went out for breakfast and drove another hour to go to ISU (Indiana State University.) We don't really have any close friends there, but my friends insisted it'd be fun. We were still exhausted from the night before, so we napped and watched all of the Twilight movies on tv. Finally we got up and went to eat. We had another fun night i...

CNA Life 💉

Image
These past few days have been so exhausting! After a long week of school, I had work Friday and Saturday from 6 am-6 pm, in Chesterton which is about 20-30 minute drive from my house. I was waking up around 4 am both days to get ready and be there on time because this was a new assignment.        As I mentioned to you all on the first day of class, I'm a CNA (certified nursing assistant.) I was at the same facility all summer, but since my school schedule is kind of all over the place and conflicting with the shift hours, I realized I wouldn't be able to work and be the student I want to be. I told my boss I'd pick up some shifts when the longer breaks from school come around. Once I started getting the hang of my school schedule and how I go about things, I noticed I do have some time to work. I applied for an agency which is traveling, where you are partnered with an agency and pick up the shifts you want, at the time you want, day, and fac...

wisdom teeth

Image
Finishing off a great week is something not so great. I've been dreading this day because in an hour I'm going to get my wisdom teeth pulled! I'm writing my post now because if I tried to after, who knows what I'd be even typing about. Or, if I'd even be able to get my laptop open. Has anyone gotten theirs removed? How was your experience? The part I'm dreading the worst is the post-procedure. I love to eat and I prepared myself with yogurt, pudding, and popsicles. I hope I'm fully healed by Monday because I have a big exam to take. I also need to be studying this weekend so I hope I'm oriented. I'm kind of scared too because I'm going to be awake during the procedure and just numbed. My best friend got hers removed a couple weeks ago by the same place I'm going, and she also was up. She said she was getting anxious because she could hear them pulling the tooth out and that made her uncomfortable. What does that even sound like!? I gue...

we were on a break !

Image
Finally!! I thought the days would never come. Fall break is our official first break of the year and although it is only 2 days long, it's half of my school week and a long weekend is definitely needed! It's a good time to catch up on notes, studying, homework, or just relaxing and binge-watching "On My Block," like I did. Breaks are well needed and deserved. It feels good to just unplug and take time for yourself. It helps ease stress for the moment and as mentioned earlier, give you time to catch up or get ahead of your studies.  This title is kinda corny but it made me laugh, because it's a "Friends" reference. I love the show "Friends" so much! I rewatched the whole series like five times now. In anyone else a fan? During my first year of college at IU, actually the first semester, I took a "Race, Gender, and Prejudice in the Media," class and we did a project on a movie or TV show and analyzed it for concepts and things like th...

Squid Game

Image
I've been seeing a lot of buzz about this Netflix show, "Squid Game," on every social media platform and on my Netflix suggestions. So, I started watching it while waiting in the dentist office and it's so good! So far, I have only watched 2 episodes, but at this rate, I'll finish the show by tonight. It seems like all of the people "drafted" or chosen to participate in these games have a lot of debt and owe a bunch of money to people. There's a huge cash prize for the winner, so of course this motivated them to join and play in order to win and pay off their debt and get people off their backs. The people there directing everything are masked up so you cannot see who they are. I have a feeling that they are politicians, police, and other community members. They played their first game, red light green light. "A kids game," they thought. The announcer spoke out the rules and said on green you go, and red you stop. If on red we detect...
