halloweekend 🍬👻

    This weekend was Halloween weekend, as the title implies, and I had so much fun! I finished all my homework before leaving Friday afternoon, packed, and got ready to go. My three best friends and I got on the road for 4 hours to go to IU Bloomington. I went there last year for school, so it was nice visiting and seeing my friends out there. My brother also goes there so it was nice to see him too. We met up with my friends and had a great time. The line at McDonald's on the way back to our hotel was SO long, but, we waited. Nothing hits better than some greasy fast food, puts you right to sleep. 

    The next morning, we went out for breakfast and drove another hour to go to ISU (Indiana State University.) We don't really have any close friends there, but my friends insisted it'd be fun. We were still exhausted from the night before, so we napped and watched all of the Twilight movies on tv. Finally we got up and went to eat. We had another fun night in Terre Haute as well. The car ride home was even fun.
    Nothing beats the feelings of singing throwback songs at the top of your lungs with your best friends. It's always a fun time being around my friends, they're some of my favorite people. I don't really like Halloween as much as the other holidays. I just like the candy and dressing up, but honestly, I could do without it. I hope everyone was safe and responsible.     The end of the month, similar to the end of the semester, creeped up on us so quick! To follow up from my last blog, my birthday weekend was so fun. I'm grateful for my friends and family for taking time to make me feel special. I am so grateful for having a big family because Thanksgiving day was so much fun. Literally all my cousins and aunts and uncles were in town this year and we were together all day. It's really the little moments that you should cherish and remember forever. This mini break was well needed to just take time to relax and catch up on sleep. I also helped my mom put up the Christmas tree and decorate outside. I love Christmas and we literally did it the day after Thanksgiving.      Unfortunately, I didn't take advantage of the break school-wise.        After watching the documentary, "After Tiller," I feel more compassion, respect, and empathy towards healthcare providers and women. This documentary is showcasing the hardships doctors who perform third trimester abortions go through, especially after the assassination of their colleague and friend, George Tiller. There wasn't one scene in particular that stood out to me, because the whole documentary felt like the "same" story, but with different women and reasons as to why they're getting an abortion. When the women were explaining different health issues their babies' had, I was getting teary eyed. It's definitely heartbreaking hearing about these rare and life threatening diseases, and it's even worse when the parents think it's their fault that this sickness happened. Experimental Design Reflection

      While doing the experimental design project, I learned a lot about writing, and about myself as a writer. I usually don't use statistics and data based evidence or diction in my writing, it's mostly analysis and more pathos based. For this project I got to do both though. My group chose to recruit volunteers for Fair Haven Rape Crisis Center organization. While looking on the website, there was a lot of data and logistics, so I had to first understand what everything meant in order to analyze it. But, this topic of providing help and support to people who have been sexually assaulted, is very emotion and feeling based, which is how I like to write and topics I like to write about.      My role in the group was to do the annotated bibliography, which is what I wanted to do because I wanted to find and read different articles that could support our organization to get a better understanding of the whole thing and to help for the project.
