something i wanna learn 🧶
This third week blog post kinda had me stuck at first because I wasn't sure what to write about. So, naturally, I went to google. I'll probably be going back to that list of "blog post ideas" throughout the weeks but for this week, I want to talk about a common hobby for others that I always wanted to get in to, but just never did: knitting/crocheting/sewing. First of all if anyone reading this knows how to do any of those, or has a grandma that does, please teach me! My grandma used to crochet blankets for my cousins and I all the time when we were younger. I loved them so much and when I got old enough to try, she told me she hadn't crocheted in years and forgot how. That kinda discouraged me to want to try it anymore.
Recently on social media, Pinterest especially, I've been seeing a lot of gorgeous crochet-knit tops, bathing suits, and even pants. There's a bunch of new fashion trends that involve crochet-knitted items, and different things that are sewn together like patches on jeans, or two separate contrasted pant legs sewn together to form a new pair. I think these are so trendy and cute! I always thought to myself if I could get into this I would make my own clothes how I want them! One of my friends' friend does this and is in college for design. She made her own birthday outfit and is planning to make someone's prom dress this year! I think that is so cool and just a good skill to have incase you need to stitch up a rip or something like that. Writing this blog is making me actually want to learn; at least just some basics of sewing.
I'm definitely into supporting small business and buy items like these from my friends or people in my city to support them and be fashionable, hahah. Overall, I think it's a really fun skill to learn and if I could even come close to sewing or knitting clothing items I would feel so accomplished!

I always have trouble figuring out what I want to write for a blog post too. I've never learned to knit, crochet, or sew. It does look so cool sometimes. I've seen on social media all these people making clothes or like animals and it just makes me want to do it. But I know If I tried I would end up messing up so many times and just giving up. In fact I actually went to a festival and there were some tents with liked crocheted clothing and animals. It just looked so cool. It made me wanna buy them and wear them one and then never wear them again. I would be too afraid they would fall apart easily. And I think for one of your future posts you could talk about your friend making the prom dress and showing pictures, obviously with her permission.
